Welcome to Shades of Styles (SOS)

A tradition that I have been doing every start of the year.

How it all started?

You all know how long this blog has been running already and I’m not going to reiterate the years that I have been rambling online. 2015 marks a different year and growth for me and this blog. 3 months ago when I was already planning for my blog’s re-launch I only thought about the new look that I can show but I haven’t dig deeper yet. The last few weeks as I felt the rush and excitement already, ideas came rushing through my head. Shades of Styles (S.O.S.) was born on one sleepless night. It was exactly 2am when I finally came up with my blog’s name then followed the logo then the whole concept for my 2015 content.

Behind the Look

The person behind my blog’s incredible look the past 3 years is Joanne Panaligan of designpastels.com. I really find it easy to work with Joanne because she instantly captures my ideas and does all the magic to make it all work. I met Anne years and years ago when blogging wasn’t really this big yet. Anne has always amazed me with her personal blog’s layout and until now I’m really really honored to be collaborating with that woman. The reason why I always change my blog’s look every year is because I believe it’s like fashion. You have to dress your blog according to trends because like fashion, everything evolves through time.

Behind the Logo

When I thought about my logo, I wanted something very iconic. By iconic I mean something that will make people remember me and my blog easily. So I browsed through my brain and thought about something that I really couldn’t leave the house without and what really completes my outfit. The shades or sunnies is the answer to everything. It’s the only accessory that I can use over and over again and I feel that could match any style or outfit. So with this part, I worked with RD Llarena who happens to take my photos on some days and who has been patiently helping me out all this time. RD is a very talented guy who also blogs, does photography on the side but insanely loves filming.

So what is really new here?

Well aside from the obvious new look, you can now subscribe to get more fresh updates everyday via email. All you need to do is to type in your email adress above where it says “SUBSCRIBE TO SHADES OF STYLES”. One thing Anne and I also worked with is the new search bar found on the navigation bar. Now it’s even easier for you to find my previous looks or posts by just typing any keyword.

For the content, it will be more than just #ootds this time. I will be doing blog posts through your requests. So whatever you want to know or ask me, simply tweet me, dm me or pm me. Other than that, more fun readings is coming your way this 2015!

And before I wrap up this post, I want to thank all of you for being part of my life. Always remember that you guys are the reason why I keep on pushing myself to be the best that I can be. If you’re reading this post, you are my inspiration.

Ya'y! Thanks for the plug sis <3 I'm glad that throughout these years, your idea continues to challenge me along with your proposed concepts. Layout wise, your impeccable taste in style added up to what we already foresee as beautiful. It was really fun & easy working with you sis 🙂 Seeing how much your blog and layouts improved for 3 consecutive years is a good indicator that you'll continue to inspire and surprise your visitors. I'll be looking forward to your posts sis Rhea :">
