1. Fishtail Skirts – I’ve been eyeing on these skirts for months now and I’m very glad to see it on this season’s runway. Fishtail skirts, looks like a mermaid’s tail and it’s like an inverted peplum skirt. Fishtail skirts are mostly paired with crop tops and pullovers and best worn with laced-up booties, t-strap heels or scarpins. For this trend, Balmain had the BEST collection!
2. Thigh High Slits – I really really can’t resist the slits! It’s really amazing how different designers played their imagination and creativity to how and where they wanted the slits to be. Back in the old days, slits are usually found at the sides or the back of the skirt. But for Spring Summer 2014, slits have become more daring and you can now see, front slits! Trend crown goes to Elie Saab for a very romantic, sexy and flowy collection!
3. Crop Tops – It’s official! Crop tops have invaded the runway! Almost all of the designers this season had the element of crop tops in their collection. I seriously had a hard time picking out the best from the bests but this time, my votes goes to: Jeremy Scott for his very futuristic and fun-printed collection, Tracy Reese for her simple yet very chic collection, Alberta Ferretti for unique crop top pieces and colorful skirts paired with it, Christian Siriano for a perfect choice of fabric + perfect cuts for his collection and Herve Leger for a very sexy and edgy pieces!
4. Jumpsuits – This will definitely be my next wardrobe staple for 2014! Seeing jumpsuits progress from design to fabric and prints, I’m definitely considering it to be the next “most worn style” for 2014. Jumpsuits are very easy and simple pieces but how the designers worked their magic this season, it made the trend be more than just simple!
